Reminiscing

Sent mama to the airport this evening. So I'm back to lazing around alone in the bedroom.

No more the someone to clean the dishes, no more the someone who'll make noise when I'm still in bed 'early' in the morning, no more of the someone who I'd go shopping with and when she would pay for the stuffs and no more of the someone who would bake some blueberry and banana muffins.

I'm now back to school in two days time, but yeah only for two weeks for summer school - then back again for a month of holiday and again back to hit the books.

Then I would be graduating by end of the year.

You just can't imagine how time flies and how it would brag you to go back to the past and those are the times where you enjoyed the most. :)

20th January 2009

President Obama and his wife went through ten inaugural balls before he actually stopped during his first night in the White House.

Etta James's "At Last" sung by Beyonce was their song for the night where they dance together at the Neighbourhood Ball.

The Obamas are now moving in and adapting themselves into the White House - equipped with bowling alleys, a mini movie theatre and a swimming pool, to name a few.

Michelle wore a long white one-shouldered dress.

Anddd....it was somehow like the Grammys. Among the known people who showed up and performed were Jamie Foxx, Shakira, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Will.I.Am, Adam Levine and Mary J. Blige.

Well, you gotta move it move it Mr. President!
All of us are counting on you for some 'change'. So bring it on!

Would You Rather?

KUALA LUMPUR: A chicken rice seller was willing to endure the pain of being whipped rather than serve a longer jail term.

At the Sessions Court yesterday, Loh Poh Meng, 40, in pleading for leniency told judge Zainal Abidin Kamarudin that he did not want to spend long years in jail as he had to take care of his sick grandmother and take her to hospital for dialysis every month.

"If you want to lessen your jail term, do you want to be whipped? Remember that it will leave scars for a lifetime," Zainal Abidin said.

"Yes, yes, sir. I want to reduce the jail term," said Loh.

He robbed a lady's mobile phone worth RM500.

"How would you feel if you were robbed while going home with the money you earned from your business? You'd be mad, wouldn't you?" Zainal Abidin asked.

"Of course, I'll be mad," said Loh.

Well, some people are kind enough to care for their grandmother but at the same time goes robbing from others. (Can't say what he did was for a living, aye?)

Another Roadtrip

Had been away for the past couple of days - another roadtrip!

This time to Mt Gambier.

One of the amazing attractions is The Blue Lake.

The famous Blue Lake of Mt. Gambier was formed out of a volcanic crater, which last erupted 5000 years ago. The Blue Lake mysteriously turns from a winter grey colour to a brilliant azure blue in the month of November, lasting till April.
This has been a mystery for many, many years...until it was finally scientifically explained to be attributed that light is scattered by calcium carbonate which saturates the lake. As the temperature rises at the surface level it causes them to precipitate out as extremely fine particles of a similar wavelength to blue light. This causes a scattering of the light at the blue end of the spectrum, making the lake appear blue.

Two Weeks and Still Counting

It has been more two weeks.
Seven-month-old Razah Ibrahim sleeps in a room with dangerously cracked ceilings and walls. She wakes up in fright, shudders and cries each time a bomb explodes about 250m away.

Her house is so close to the Palestinian border that one can look across the wire fence and see the homes on the Palestinian side.

The cracks on the wall and ceiling were not there before. They appeared 10 days ago after an intense day of shelling and bombing. All the light bulbs broke into bits.

And a hot iron fragment came sailing into her house compound through one of the open-air areas. Luckily no one got hurt.

The attacks are still continuing. Cease fire was only for a while.
Women and children are the victims. I couldn't barely look at the pictures of the people in pain suffering and tormenting.

Please let it stop. Please.

I'm Distracted on Other Things on the Net because...

I'm stuck on having to praise myself.

If you were me, what would you write on a situation to describe yourself on being:
1. Outgoing
2. Responsible
3. Hardworking
4. Reliable
5. Confidence

I know there's sooo much about me to write that I just can't think of now.

Hahahahahahahaahhah.

Can't wait for the new look. :)

I'm still contemplating on 2008 which was really a memorable year to me. Indeed.
I have to say that I might not be able to live up this year coming ahead. But I will try. Well, for now.

The Starting of a New Year 2009

2008 has been a memorable year. It was in 2008 that I stepped my foot downunder to pursue my studies.

This taught me sooo much more new things, i.e for me to be independent in every point of life. Being away from my family does not mean that I could not live independently. This showed me the true life of being able to do each and every thing on my own.

No more family members surrounding me, unlike back home. Here, I'm surrounded by friends, be it all sorts of age group and all sorts of maturity level.
In my younger days, I only mix with the people from the same background, conversing in the same language. Being away gave me the chance to mix and even learn other languages.

This year, 2009 would be the last year for my studies on which I will graduate, if everythinggoes well. I will defenitely have to make use of the time here to be able to meet more people and visiting more places on which I have never been. Travelling gives me the satisfaction in life! :)

I hope that 2009 would turn out to be a better one. Yes, I know I would have to pledge to improve myself to prove it to be a better year. All these would never come to reality without the blessing and care from a person called a Mother.

The Mother makes sacrifices which I would never be able to repay her. I would never stay at the place I am now without me. Now, I am capable to be myself and carry a HUGE responsibility to make her proud and succeed in everything that I do. Living a life without a mother by your side is absolutely difficult. Nothing in this world could repay her kindness and sacrifices. All these years not even have to wait for a new year to contribute to the family.

Happy New Year 2009.
I love you Mama.

Resolutions?

New Year...New Year..

Happy New Year people!!

xoxo
