Hard Waste
Hard waste items for collection must be placed on the kerb near your residence.
Ohh..it was on a flyer to remind and inform people on hard waste collection. We have got the flyer today and I found it quite interesting. And I was imagining only and only if it were to be implemented in Malaysia.
The annual hard waste collection will be done on Monday, 8 September 2008 by the Cities of West Torrens (the local council) and Holdfast Bay, collected from residential properties.
Among the rules:
1. Must have the hard waste on the footpath in front of the house by 6am on 8 Sept. Items placed on the kerb after the collection truck has passed will not be collected.
2. Waste to be disposed should not be more than 1.5 cubic meters which is equivalent to a slightly heaped 6 x 4 meter trailer.
3. There's also a loooong list on what will be collected and what won't be collected. Basically no liquids, chemicals, organic waste, batteries, paints, vehicle tyres, etc. The collected items would be furniture, carpets, bikes, toys, airconds, small scrap metals, unbroken glass, etc.
However, if you still wish to dispose the non-collectable items, there are numbers to contact.
Also, failure to comply with guidelines could result to a $315 fine.
(haha..then it would be better of is you were not to dispose your stuffs rather than getting the fine right?)

A Brand New IPhone? Not!
Hahahaa...I found this wayyyy too interestingly funny!
A British buyer of Apple's iPhone was surprised to discover his new phone's camera already contained photos - apparently taken in the Chinese factory where it was made.
The pictures showed a woman of Asian appearance, dressed in factory clean room garments, smiling and gesturing in front of other partially-assembled iPhones.
iPhones are manufactured in China by Foxconn.
The iPhone user provided the pictures to the Apple fan website macrumors.com under the screen name "markm49uk".
"Once it had been activated on iTunes I found that the home screen already had a photo set against it," markm49uk wrote.
"It would appear that someone on the production line was having a bit of fun."
A tribute website dedicated to the woman in the photos has appeared at iphonegirl.net.

Sir Donald Bradman
Born 27 August 1908 - died 25 February 2001. Don Bradman, dubbed 'the boy from Bowral', rose to acclaim during times of hardship, depression and recovery. He represented Australia for 20 years, playing 52 Tests from 1928/29-1948. Knighted for his services to cricket in 1949, he remains the only Australian cricketer to receive a knighthood for services to the game. He retired from Test cricket with a batting average of 99.94, making his Test batting achievements nearly twice that of the nearest Test batsman.
Don Bradman was born in Cootamundra, New South Wales, on 27 August 1908 and grew to become one of Australia's most esteemed cricketers. The young Don learned his early cricket while growing up in the New South Wales town of Bowral. Playing Grade cricket for the St George District Cricket Club (Sydney) and Kensington Cricket Club (Adelaide), he represented NSW between 1927/28-1933/34, South Australia between 1935/36-1947/48 and Australia from 1928/9-1948.
The Bradman Foundation, a non-profit charitable trust, is based in Bowral and owns and operates the Bradman Museum of Cricket. Established with the full support of Sir Donald, its charter is to support youth cricket across Australia and to commemorate its namesake, Sir Donald Bradman AC.
The Bradman Foundation has created this website so you can learn more about the life of Sir Donald Bradman, the world’s greatest batsman and significant Australian.
